Swimming - 31.08.2010

Swimming is the most favorite activity of A Bach students. They cannot wait for the swimming time because we do many fun things during our swimming. Swimming is not only physical activity but it also builds the children‘s character. Children exercise their gross motor skills by moving their legs and hands; they learn how to be disciplined by following the instructions given to them; they become aware of their safety and they play together nicely.
Here are some activities that we do in the swimming pool:
* First, we always do warming up before going to the water to prepare of bodies for this physical activity.
* We walk around the swimming pool, to get acquainted with the pool area.
* Playing some water games to accustom ourselves from the water condition. This also helps the children become braver when in the water.
* Free playing to teach the children how to play nicely with their friends in the water.
* Taking a bath. The children learn to prepare their things and personal belongings (soap, shampoo, towel, and changing clothes) on their own.

Warm regards,
Ms. Tetri and Ms. Joyce

Kindergaten A Field Trip 1 - Museum Polri, Jakarta

“Wow…the bus is very big”, “So many cars on the street”, “Look, helicopter!”
These were only some of the comments from our Kindergarten A when they had their first field trip to Jakarta. Two thumbs up for all Kindergarten A because they had successfully followed the trip without mommy or nanny’s assistance. GREAT!
The children were happy riding a bus with their friends and teachers, they chatted, sang some songs, enjoyed eating biscuits and drinking milk… everybody was so happy.
We arrived at our destination-The Museum POLRI Jakarta. Each class was accompanied by a police woman who serves as our tour guide. Children started the tour by taking pictures with helicopter, tank, and policeman then we went to different floors to see police equipment; learn the history of the police; see their uniform; watch video, and take pictures with kids’ police uniform. The children were so excited to ask about the things there. We closed our tour by giving pin to each child and this made them happier. They said goodbye to the police women and went back to school with sweet memories.
Thank you Mister Policeman and Miss Policewoman for your hospitality…
Cheerz,
Ms. Maria Angela
